|Recommended: YesLove living at the Meridian — I had the pleasure of working with Cachet from the very beginning. She was amazing and truly took time to listen to my needs when choosing the layout that best fit me. As well as assisting me with whatever I needed, as I was relocating out of state. I have been here for a month now, and absolutely love living here

|Recommended: NoGreat staff, nice building, very bad parking situation — The parking garage is tight doesn't have assigned spots, so you never know if you'll fit in between two badly parked spots. Also, it is one way in, one way out, so if there's a moving truck, garbage truck, or a broken down car, you are stuck until they move. Fix the garage or lower the monthly parking fee by 50 and this building is 4-5 stars.
Andrew,
Thank you for taking the time to share your candid thoughts about Meridian on First. We are sorry that you are experiencing parking challenges. We do our best to keep the entrance to the garage clear, but do understand that at times there will be some challenges. In regard to the garage itself, although we are unable to change the configuration, if you ever see people parked in such a way that they are taking up more than one space, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can address the issue. Again, we appreciate your feedback. Regards- Karen K

|Recommended: NoWould be great, if management cared about their residents — The actual apartment is nice. But it's impossible to live here and not get frustrated with management, especially when they leave passive aggressive notes about the things that frustrate you most.
- Why can we not book parking in advance Literally 21st century get with it. I don't care if something isn't available, I care when I can't plan for it. If I pay you in advance for parking what difference does it make for you But nope, all we get are a million signs reminding us that parking is first come first serve.
- Similarly, other amenities like the loading dock cannot be reserved by a system, you need to email in your request which makes it difficult if your plans needs change. The rationale that it makes things easier or more accurate makes no sense - that's literally why we created systems to be easier and less prone to error. Case in point, when we moved in the office double booked the loading dock and we had to wait hours for their painter to move their van. Again, I don't care when something is booked by someone else
I just want to be able to have more flexibility and be able to plan ahead.
- Trash shoots are always locked, you are forced to either sit with trash in your unit for days or people leave trash in the trash rooms and management yells at them.. but really cant blame them. Absurd that we pay 3000 a month to live with garbage.
- For a luxury apartment you'd think they could afford a printer that residents can use. But instead you have to send it to the leasing office which is especially frustrating when printing sensitive docs.. and they never let you know when somethings ready to be picked up.
- Gym dumbells only go up to 35lbs.. again would expect more from luxury building.
I would not recommend this place, 100 because of the way it is managed which almost purposefully makes life more frustrating for residents.
Elaine, thank you for taking the time to give your feedback on Meridian on First. We are happy that you enjoy your apartment home. We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing some frustration with other aspects of the community. We apologize for the issues with our trash chutes. We are working with our waste management company to resolve the issue of missed pick-ups. If they haven't already, someone from our team will be reaching out to discuss your concerns in more detail. We look forward to connecting with you soon. - Tiana G.

|Recommended: YesBeautiful Apartments in Perfect Location — I absolutely loved my 16 months at Meridian on First, and would highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking to live in DC, especially younger individuals, friends, or couples. The location within Navy Yard is perfect, only 2-3 blocks away from the Washington Nationals Stadium, the waterfront, a great selection of restaurants and coffee shops, Whole Foods and Harris Teeter, and dog parks. The building is beautifully decorated and cleaned thoroughly on a daily basis. The staff including leasing, front desk, cleaning, and maintenance are all incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional. On any occasion when we needed assistance e.g., guest parking, reserving the loading dock for moves, or a rare maintenance issue , the staff always responded promptly and ensured our concerns were resolved. The apartments themselves are modern and beautifully finished, and we were pleased with all of the in-unit appliances. Meridian offers a great selection of floorplans, including lots of apartments with a sunroom and or balcony we loved our sunroom and used this as a home office . The building is incredibly pet-friendly, and we frequently took advantage of the pet spa and treats at the front desk My only concern was related to parking - the garage parking was somewhat expensive 200 per month , spots were unreserved, and there were no in-garage security cameras. We experienced occasional difficulty in finding a spot due to the number of cars with parking passes and the high number of guest passes issued, but the building has been actively managing these concerns among current residents. Otherwise, I can't say enough good things about this place, and I miss it already
|Recommended: NoGreat quality units, but backwards management and missing basic amenities — The apartment building is great, very high quality. I do not understand why the building refuses to use technology for booking things - the resident portal app has the functionaliyy to do online booking, but the building refuses to join 21st century and you must email for reserving parking, guest suite, loading dock. As residents its SUPER inconvenient because I can't easily see when something is available and can't even email to reserve parking in advance , and if my schedule changes I have to email again and find out a new time. Its really inconvenient and then management is upset and sends out passive aggressive emails notifications to residents to remind them of the rules. I've lived in other buildings in navy yards and this is the only one thats set up in such an illogical way that puts the onnus on the resident. Also, the trash shoots.. I understand that you don't want trash coming down the shoots while its being taken out. But why is it lock for HOURS Other residents then leave their trash on the floor and honestly can't blame them. Additionally, I pay 2800 a month, literally every other building had an office for residents with a printer. I don't want to have to come and wait for a desk person to pick up a simple print request and I never know when its ready for pick up . I think the building can swing the 400 bucks for a printer. Lastly, why can delivery people not come up I know we don't want strangers coming in, but surely you can find a solution that accommodates to residents. Maybe if they're buzzed in they can come up, or if there's a sign in sheet, or the desk can call the resident to confirm they can come up and then escort them to the elevator and hit the floor button for them then they literally can only go where allowed and can only come back to floor 1 . So many solutions that don't inconvenient residents - and every other building uses these systems.
Just crazy to pay so much and all of the management aspects of the building just make no sense and have no thought for the resident. I'd love future surveys.. this was the only time I've been asked how things have been going.
|Recommended: YesStaff is awesome — Living in an apartment that provides the amenities they do they do a great job maintaining a community environment. Management staff here is great and can’t say enough about the people here.
|Recommended: NoGreat but room for improvement — The apartment overall is good. However, the parking situation is awful and the fact that the building offers guest parking spots when there are residents waiting for parking is absurd. I think the gesture is nice and a great selling point IF residents in the building that need parking have it. If I would have known this prior, I may have looked around a bit more. The construction of the apartments are nice, but you can tell it was rushed in certain spots. I have stayed in another building in the area and the amenities were also a little bit better. Overall, it’s not bad for a year, but definitely consider other options once the lease is over.
|Recommended: YesClean, sleek, and centrally located to great restaurants, public transportation, and grocery and convenience stores. — The apartments are very spacious, modern, and eco-friendly. The Meridian is also centrally located and takes minutes to walk to grocery and convenience stores, public transportation, and great restaurants. It is also located near the Nationals ballpark, Audi Field, and not too far from the Wharf. There is always something to do in this area and the Meridian is right in the center of it all. My neighbors are friendly, the leasing team is professional and knowledgeable, and the front desk professionals are always helpful and kind.
